The first thing to tick off your list is the Orchha Fort, which is located 4 kms from the resort. Lying on a rocky island, the fort is connected by a small bridge, next to which lies the Phool Bagh and temples dedicated to Ram Raja, Laxminarayan and Chaturbhuj. The entire complex is divided into three palaces, called Raja Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Jahangir Mahal.
Another unmissable spot in this quaint town is the stately cenotaphs at Kanchan Ghat which is located on the Betwa river (4 kms from the resort). Home to regal vultures, this is a good spot to watch the sun set behind the 14 chattris of the Bundelas. Although you can also do river rafting here, it is equally amazing to just soak your feet in the cool waters of the river. Orchha also some incredible temples, the most important being the Ram Raja temple (it is one of the focal points of the city as well). Head here in the evening, as the temple comes alive with singing and worship. Ram Navmi celebrations are particularly atmospheric with musicians coming from nearby villages to join the celebrations. Also, keep in mind that public transport in Orchha is pretty limited, so it is a good idea to ask the manager to arrange a vehicle for you. Contact us
